December 2010 Update

Wishing you all a blessed Christmas from all the team and students at Asian Tribal Ministries!

We would like to thank all of you for your prayers and support over this last year 2010 and also for all those who have visited us in Doisaket this year, you have been such a great encouragement and blessing to our team and the ministry here.

ATM Base and Building Project

We are so pleased to be able to report on the building and repairs taking place on the base for the last month. Wanchai (Matthew) along with some ex-students have been working hard and have repaired the roof of both the girls and boys dorms as well as rebuilding the girls and boys bath areas – building a wall for more privacy and also putting in lights and tiles.

The building of the new dorm and meeting hall is all going smoothly and we have been blessed with a good building company which was really just God's amazing favour. The first company that gave us a quote gave it to us for a very high price and not very good quality (which we later found out). After asking 4 other companies which gave us even higher quotes we all prayed together for God to help us really make the best decision and provide the right people and quote. The next day Pastor Suchin found the company we are now working with which gave us a quote for almost 2 million baht less and with the quality we were wanting.  Below are some photos to show you how it is all going so far. The building should be completed by May/June next year 2011. Thank you to all those who are standing with us to see this building completed.

ATM Outreaches / Children of the Border Project

We just returned yesterday after spending nearly a week in Karen Land along the Thai/Burma border. 35 young people came to know the Lord and we were able to give them their first Bible and spent time encouraging and teaching them songs, dramas and dances. We spent 3 days teaching and sharing at the primary and kindergarten schools in the village.

We were able to continue to bless the people and especially families in great need with mosquito nets, medicines, blankets and rice. Many thought that we were doctors and we had to explain that we weren't but we were able to pray with them and their children who were sick and were able to give them malaria, fever and cough medicine. We were only able to bring with us 35 sacks of rice and there is still great need for rice and mosquito nets and blankets.

We plan to visit again with more aid as well as Christmas gift packages for 500 children across the border in the next 2 weeks. Please continue to stand along side with us to help the IDP Karen living along the border. Their need is so great and it has we have had so much favour to go across and help and bring supplies whilst many other NGO’s and missions organizations have not had access.

We have been given permission to start building the first orphanage in Wai Ler Mu village along the border. There are 200 hundred children waiting from 9 different IDP villages around the area so we are praying that it will all go smoothly so we can start to provide this help for the kids and especially orphans across the border inside Karen Land. Please continue to pray for this project. Through the Children of the Border Project we have already been able to go across the border into desperate areas and not only give aid but also share the love of Christ and are seeing people come to the Lord and the environment of whole villages changed and now filled with hope.

We hope that this Christmas you are blessed as you spend time with your families and most of all knowing how much God loves each of you and sent his son Jesus as the most precious and important gift we could ever receive. Draw close to Him and for those who need rest, allow Him to be your rest, for those who are hurting, allow Him to be your healing, for those who are blessed, allow him to use you mightily to be a great blessing to others.

“I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all
my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never
    covered with shame.”

          -  Psalm 34:4-5

May the Lord bless you, lead you and guide you.

With Love in Christ,

From all the ATM team and students.
