July 2010 Update
Discipleship Training School
On the 16th of June - 7 graduate students and 5 first year students along with 5 ATM team members split up into 3 teams and have been ministering and outreaching to 3 different areas along the border. The team that went across the border into Burma/Karen land for one month have just arrived back with awesome testimonies of God's grace and healing power and the power of God's Word changing hearts and minds. The team went house to house sharing the gospel and also praying for the sick with many be-ing healed from fevers, malaria and other sicknesses. Glory to God!
In the next 2 months we will also be going to outreach to many Karen villages in the mountains in Thai-land, encouraging pastors and leaders and many young people and children. Please continue to pray as we go out that we will not just go with our own words but with the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit able to heal and change lives.
Children of the Border Project
Along with the student outreaches, the ATM team have also had an open door to assess the situation for many children and orphans along the border. We were able to build good friendship and relationships with local leaders such as the headmaster of the school in Wai Ler Mu as well as others who are working for their people. We are now working on establishing bases along the border that will serve as a commu-nity development centres which will aim to develop villages and communities as well as provide care for orphans, widows and families along the border. During our time there we were able to provide 300 chil-dren with sanitary packs (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap) as well as a computer and printer for the school, seeds to grow vegetables and fruit to support the children and their families and we have been given land to build a centre that will also be able to provide a goat farm, fish farm and more vegetables for the village.
These projects and having the centres to manage them will have a huge im-pact on developing communities and helping them to build up their lives and release many families from poverty and lack of education. We need your prayers and support . If you would like to find out more detailed information about these projects and how you can help then please email Karenna Laklem at asiantribalministries@gmail.com.
Thankyou once again for your continued prayers and doors will continued to be open for us to reach more areas in Karen State.
Blessings in Christ,
ATM team and students
